Website FAQ

Is my credit card transaction transmitted securely?

Yes. Protecting your information is a priority at Experian. Experian utilizes Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to protect all personal information, including your card number, name and address when ordering a report. By using SSL, only Experian is allowed to read your information. To confirm that your connection is secure, simply look at the lower right-hand corner of your browser window once you reach the credit card page. If you see an unbroken key or a closed lock (depending upon your browser), the SSL is active and your information is secure. You can also double-check by looking at the address/URL line of your browser. When accessing a secure server, the first characters of the site address will change from 'http' to 'https.' We designed our web site with multiple layers of security and utilize state-of-the-art software solutions to prevent unauthorized access and improper use of our site. For your added protection, we never store any credit, financial or street address information on our servers.

Can I order over the phone?

No. We can only accept orders via the website.

What happens to my credit card information?

It is used solely to complete AutoCheck transactions. Other than verifying credit card information, Experian will never willfully disclose credit card information to any third party for any purpose.
